Professional Accountant Designation
Admission to MembershipAdmission to membership is by successful completion of examinations, following the course of studies, conversing subjects required for competency in accountancy, as set out in the education program established for the Institute and the passing of the mandatory accreditation examinations. The names of the applicants who successfully complete the mandatory accreditation examinations on admission to membership are entered in the Institute's Register of Professional Accountants and thus, are authorized by the Institute to use the designation Professional Accountant and the designatory letters PA. A member of the Institute of Certified Professional Accountants has clearly established responsibilities to all members of the community, in the exercise of his or her professional activity, in which the member is engaged; be it as an employer, employee, practitioner, in partnership or as a consultant. The highest standards of conduct and integrity are expected to be observed by the membership of the profession. Applicants will also be required to show evidence of at least three years of practical experience in accountancy.
